Biography for Ray Konecsni

Ray Konecsni is the Director of Customer Support Services at the University of Regina. Ray’s 30-year diverse career in printing has included positions in higher education institutions, government agencies and insurance companies. He has led a large number of innovation and process efficiency projects in information technology and printing services such as: the move to on demand print, variable print, intelligent mail inserting, internal service consolidations and print optimization projects. He was also responsible for moving the in-plant print shop, stockroom and mailroom for one of the largest corporate insurance sector moves in Canadian History.

The U of R’s Print Optimization Program has been the subject of articles in the IT in Canada Magazine, Purchasing B2B magazine, Computerworld Canada magazine, and the NACAS College Services Magazine. The program won CUPMAC’s Green Award in June of 2016, the Regional Centre of Expertise for the Education of Sustainable Development award in 2012 and 2017, and was runner-up in Infotech’s Greenest IT in Canada Award in 2011.

Ray and his wife Annette have 3 grown sons, a beautiful granddaughter and are expecting their 2nd grandchild shortly. He is the youngest of 8 siblings and was raised on a farm near the village of Dysart Saskatchewan (pop 225) and was 1 of 2 boys in his high school graduating class of 6. Ray and Annette currently live in the city of Regina Saskatchewan.
