Recognising Excellence in Higher Education Improvement
The Global Lean HE Impact Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals dedicated to enhancing the higher education sector. These awards highlight the quality of work, passion, and commitment to advancing the Lean HE community and knowledge base at an internationally recognised standard.
Who is this for?
This award is for members of the global Lean HE community who are making a difference and contributing to the broader higher education improvement movement.
What value does this award offer?
By recognising your exceptional work, this award aims to motivate and support both individuals and their institutions. It serves as a testament to your impact on higher education, encouraging further development and excellence.
Awards are peer-assessed by a panel of international experts from the Lean HE community.
Award Criteria:
Successful – Deliver Impact: Your work must demonstrate high quality and a clear commitment to the improvement of higher education.
Shared – Spread Knowledge: You must actively contribute to the Lean HE community and the wider higher education body of knowledge.
Eligibility:
Nominees must be a named individual employed in the higher education sector.
No self-nominations.
Nominees can be nominated by someone from their own institution but will need to include an external peer endorsement.
Nomination Process:
Submit nominee’s name and email (no personal data).
Confirm that the nominee has been informed of the submission.
Maximum of 1 page nomination, which can include links to other sources, plus max of 2 pages additional testimonials, work samples etc

Deadline for submissions will be announced each year but will be approximately 2 months prior to the annual conference.
Award Presentation:
Awards will be presented at the Lean HE Annual Conference (starting 2025), typically during the conference dinner. If the recipient is unable to attend in person, they will receive the award in absentia and be invited to collect their certificate at a future date.
Special Recognition:
All individuals who meet the award criteria will be recognised. Additionally, the awards committee may highlight submissions of special merit for their unique contributions, though this is not a higher-level award.
